Akikusa Menuki - M013
This made in Japan Menuki features Plants which flower in fall. It precisely refers to seven plants, "Aki no nanakusa", buchclover, miscanthus, bellflower, arrowroot, maidenflower, wild carnations and boneset. The seven grasses are symbols of the fall season, associated with desolation and loneliness, and expressions of "aware", the transitory nature of life. They were combined with dragonflies, the moon, or deer - all melancholy symbols associated with autumn season.
